Launch of new school app ‘SZapp’
Over the past few months we have been researching ‘apps’ that can be used by schools to communicate to our whole school community.
Whilst text messaging (Eduspot) has been fine up until now, historically we have received feedback such as messages not getting through or ambiguous messages being sent due to a limited number of characters available in a text. From our point of view, we have to rely on parents informing us that mobile numbers have been changed and the text message system that we purchased was expensive. We have also had to use email alongside texts to send out longer messages and/or letters, whereas the app will do all of this more efficiently.
After much deliberation, we are delighted to announce that we have chosen an app called ‘SZapp’. All we ask you to do now, is download it!
If you have an iPhone please use the following link:
iOS: SZapp by Schoolzine https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/szapp/id982105479?mt=8
If you have an android phone, please use this link:
On the reverse we have printed a user friendly guide to installation. Please remember to allow ‘Push Notifications’ when you install the app, so you get a notice each time we add something (this will appear as a number in a red circle on the top right hand corner of the app tile on the screen of your phone/device similar to WhatsApp etc.)
The benefits of an app are:
-the content of messages are not limited by a number of characters
-links directly to school website
-links to ParentPay
As of Monday 11th March, the app will become our sole method of communication; occasionally a paper letter may be sent but there will be no text messages or emails sent from this point on. It is therefore essential that the app is downloaded to your mobile/device. As an extra incentive, when you download the app you will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 Morrisons voucher.
If you have any queries or require any help downloading the app, please contact the School Office who will be happy to help.
