Slowly pour 100ml of water into a bowl of 150g cornflour and mix.

Next, add food colouring of choice and mix.

Add googly eyes, encourage counting as they add eyes or beads.

Allow time to explore the texture, how does the monster feel?

What do you think might happen if we add another colour?

You could also add glitter/buttons/sequins/tissue paper etc for different textures/colours to explore.

How did you make your slime monster? Can you draw pictures to help someone else make their own slime monster? Can you label your instructions?

During this time we encourage the children to plan their own learning, they then carry out their task and we review their learning at the end of the session. (Child initiated learning)
